Volunteers Needed for the Maryland Cultural Proficiency Conference

The sixth annual Maryland Cultural Proficiency Conference will be hosted virtually on Tuesday, October 26 – Wednesday, October 27, 2021 and is in need of volunteers.

This year’s conference theme – “Doing the Work: Equity in Turbulent Moments” – centers on action in equity work. The turbulence of COVID, ongoing racial pandemic, and continued national and global uprisings for human and civil rights define our present moment. Our theme seeks to both define the work and interrogate what is needed to keep doing the work.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Joyce E. King and Rashad Robinson as this year's Keynote Speakers. Dr. Joyce E. King holds the Benjamin E. Mays Endowed Chair for Urban Teaching, Learning and Leadership in Georgia State University’s Department of Educational Policy Studies and affiliated faculty in Africana Studies, the Women’s and Gender Studies Institute, and the Urban Studies Institute. Rashad Robinson is President of Color Of Change, a leading racial justice organization with more than 7 million members.
