PhD Student Everett Smith and Assistant Professor Roderick Rose Present at the International Consortium for Social Development


On Thursday, July 15, PhD student/clinical instructor Everett Smith and Assistant Professor Roderick Rose presented at an international conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. The presentation, "The Impact of Discrimination and Racial-Ethnic Identification on School-Based Outcomes in a Multicultural Sample of Rural Youth in the United States" discussed how associations between perceived discrimination, racial-ethnic identification, and proximal relationship dynamics predicted grades and school behaviors. Racial-ethnic identification was promotive of academic adjustment and perceived discrimination was associated with academic maladjustment.
