On Friday, October 15th Social Workers serving as Program Managers at Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) will give attendees an understanding of the Unaccompanied Alien Child (UAC) welfare system, with a particular emphasis on services provided to families as a part of their efforts to reunify with these youth, as well as foster care services available to youth for whom family reunification is not a goal. The presenters will elaborate on what a youth might experience as a part of this system from the time of their initial transfer to the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, through to their eventual placement outcome.

On Monday, October 18th join Dan Baker, Global Reentry Program Director for National Peace Corps, in a discussion about Peace Corps service and the mission of the organization. Learn more about the work of community advocacy staff to establish a support network for individuals who left service Peace Corps. Q & A time is available to ask questions about Peace Corps service.
