Greetings SSW Community,
The last few weeks have been difficult for many of us following the mass shootings in Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay, California and the murder of Tyre Nichols in Memphis by the police. SSW’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) is writing to offer community healing spaces for our SSW members to share, listen and to just be with each other.
We will also have a SSW Community Healing Space for everyone that will be held in person on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 4-5pm in room 2W11.
These community healing spaces are intended to acknowledge our collective grief without judgment or jumping ahead to solve problems. These are not necessarily the spaces to brainstorm solutions or to seek education from others’ experiences. We also welcome anyone to stop by ODEI the rest of today and Thursday if support is needed. We are located on the 5th floor in rooms 5E37 and rooms 5E39.
