Professor Shdaimah gives invited lectures in at VC College and Ben Gurion University


Daniel Thursz Distinguished Professor of Social Justice Corey Shdaimah provides a series of invited presentations in Israel. On January 6th she presented a talked which was attended by faculty and students from around the country. YVC is UMB SSW's partner for the Social Justice Seminar series, headed jointly by Dr. Shdaimah and Dr. Postan-Aizik, who was a UMB post-doctoral fellow, that will host UMB SSW students in June, 2023.


Dr. Shdaimah also provided a series of lectures at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev for the Gender and Women’s Studies department colloquium, social science doctoral students, and the BGU School of Social Work from January 17-18. In these talks, she discussed her work in the areas of diversion programs aimed at street-based sex workers and dependency court reform efforts in Maryland, as well as professional ethical dilemmas related to working in and researching these programs. Dr. Shdaimah also gave an interactive seminar on visual methods in qualitative research.
