Professor Frey Awarded New grant with Colleagues from UMSON

Professor Frey awarded new grant with colleagues from UMSON to study Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and nurses

Dr. Jodi Frey, Professor and Associate Dean for Research will serve as Co-Investigator on a new grant with colleagues from the UMSON (PI, Dr. Alison Trinkoff) to study the utilization and impact of of Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services among nurses with substance use disorder (SUD) and the relationship of EAPs with nursing boards. This study is funded for 2 years by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Given how little is known in research about the impact of EAPs on nurses with SUDs and how nurses move through treatment, recovery and return to work, this grant will provide important data about current practices and gaps in services to help nurses recover and keep working.
