PhD Student Vashti Adams Named CSWE Fellow for 2021-2022


Second year PhD student Vashti Adams was selected to join the 2020-2021 cohort of the Council on Social Work Education's Minority Fellowship Program. MFP fellows are future leaders in social work practice, policy, research, and education who are committed to serving underrepresented and underserved persons with or at risk for mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.


The CSWE MFP is a training and professional development award supported by grant funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The fellowship award is for doctoral social work students with a strong commitment to addressing the behavioral health services to underserved racial/ethnic populations. The award includes specialized training, a monthly stipend, mentorship, and professional development supports.
