PhD student, Peiyuan Zhang and faculty John G. Cagle have a new paper published in Journal of Applied Gerontology that explores the prevalence of missing living wills and its associations with hospice use and in-hospital deaths.

Using national longitudinal data from Health Retirement Study, authors found that individuals whose living wills went missing still had better end-of-life care than those who did not have a living will.
