PhD Student Jihyeong Jeong Named AGESW Fellow

Congratulations to rising 2nd year PhD student Jihyeong Jeong!

Jihyeong was accepted into the 12th cohort of the Association for Gerontology Education in Social Work (AGESW) Pre-Dissertation Fellows Program. The program, which is extended to ten fellows each year, offers support to pre-candidacy students by providing mentorship, professional development trainings, and networking opportunities. Jihyeong is delighted to join the community of AGESW Fellows and hopes to further gerontological scholarship through her research.

We are delighted to celebrate Jihyeong and the other UMSSW PhD Students who are AGESW fellows including our current students: Todd Becker, Sarah Clem and Peiyuan Zhang.

Behind and beside every productive student are dedicated mentors who share their wisdom and create learning opportunities for students. We are so lucky at UMB to have great Gero faculty with John Cagle, Joan Davitt, Amanda Lehning, Paul Sacco, and Nancy Kusmaul at UMBC. Thank you to each of you for the mentorship you provide for our students. We clearly have some great strengths in aging research.
