PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS NEEDED

This is an opportunity to work with an EXTREMELY FUN AND FRIENDLY 27-year-old male with developmental disabilities in the Lutherville area. Instructors are trained to use behavior modification and other techniques to teach skills in the areas of communication, functional academics, daily living/life skills, vocational skills, recreation and social skills. Instructors provide one-on-one teaching in the home & in the community.

Excellent clinical/teaching experience!!


EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, only the desire to work with a developmentally disabled young adult. Those best suited to work with this extremely special person must be very enthusiastic with high energy and have patience to continuously work toward small incremental gains in understanding and performance. Interest in arts & crafts a plus. Instructors will receive extensive training. There is a preference for students majoring in psychology, special education, speech/language, O.T., art therapy or related field. Must provide own transportation.

HOURS

Schedule is flexible. Instructors are part of a team of about 2 ~ 3 people. Teaching sessions are typically conducted in 4-hour intervals, mostly during evenings and weekends, possible daytime hours available. Each instructor generally works about 4 - 12 hours per week. Weekday shifts begin at 3:30 pm. Weekend shifts begin between 1 and 2 pm.

PAY

$15.00/hr

COMMITMENT

Minimum of 6 months requested.

TRAINING/SUPERVISION

Intensive training provided with ongoing supervision. Monthly team meetings are required in order to evaluate progress & make changes to the program.
