The University of Maryland, Baltimore welcomes nominations, applications, and expressions of interest for the inaugural Executive Director, Center for Violence Prevention, a multidisciplinary program aimed at reducing and responding to violence in the city, state, and region. By harnessing campus wide expertise along with collaborative partnerships within the community, nonprofit, government, corporate and philanthropic sectors, the Center for Violence Prevention envisions resilient and equitable communities that are safe for all. To this end, the Center will play a critical role in bridging the efforts at the University with those in the community as it relates to research, education, and policy that strengthen the community. The University seeks a collaborative, innovative, and entrepreneurial leader committed to excellence in community engagement, research, and applied evidence-based solutions in order to fulfill the Center’s mission to prevent and intervene before violence and violence-related trauma occur. The Executive Director will be expected to develop and lead this newly created Center of excellence, impact, and innovation as well as secure the support and resources to achieve that vision.
