New Grant Opportunities for Dr. Theda Rose

Associate Professor Dr. Theda Rose is the Principal Investigator of a new grant, along with co-investigators from George Washington University - Dr. Jody Ganiban and Dr. Sharon Lambert. The grant is funded by the National Institutes of Health/Duke University, Environmental Influence on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Opportunities and Infrastructure Fund (OIF). The study is titled Social Ecological Assets and Mental Health among Diverse Youth: An Application of the Dual-Factor Model.

The proposed study uses nationwide cohort data among youth ages 5-20 from the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program. Focusing on one of ECHOs core outcome domains, positive health, the study aims to 1) Identify mental health profiles using the dual-factor model approach; 2) Describe the associations between social-ecological domains and mental health profiles; and 3) Explore whether observed associations between social-ecological domains and mental health profiles vary by race/ethnicity, sex, and age group.
