New Funding to Help Raise Mental Health Awareness in African American Community

The Baltimore Community Foundation has awarded $20,000 in funding to the SSW to help prepare African American youth from Baltimore to educate other youth and youth serving adults on mental health in the African American community and Healing Centered Engagement.

The project will have the inaugural presentation on November 19 from 6-730 pm via Zoom. If you are interested in attending or contracting the youth to present to your organization please contact Kyla Liggett-Creel at kliggett-creel@ssw.umaryland.edu. Liggett-Creel serves as the Principal Investigator for this project.

The potential impact is for hundreds of youth and youth serving adults from Baltimore to learn about mental health in the African American community, Healing Centered Engagement, and supporting youth using the African philosophy of Ubuntu (I am because we are).
