NALOXONE TRAINING: PREVENTION AND REVERSAL OF AN OPIOID OVERDOSE


Overdose education and naloxone distribution has been a part of the harm reduction landscape for decades. Naloxone is an empowerment tool for individuals and communities. Overdose deaths in Maryland rose 17.7% in 2020 to 2,799. Of these deaths, 2,518 were opioid-related.

>The five key steps to respond to an opioid overdose

>Information on the Good Samaritan Law

>How to get naloxone in your community


Individuals attending this training will be eligible to receive a narcan kit.


THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL USM FACULTY, STAFF, STUDENTS AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITY.
