Overdose education and naloxone distribution has been a part of the harm reduction landscape for decades. Naloxone is an empowerment tool for individuals and communities. Overdose deaths in Maryland rose 17.7% in 2020 to 2,799. Of these deaths, 2,518 were opioid-related.
