MARYLAND CHILD TRAFFICKING CONFERENCE
Better together: Effective and Impactful Partnerships
April 6-7, 2022, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET - VIRTUAL
The University of Maryland School of Social Work, the Governor's Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Service, and the Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force are sponsoring the fifth annual statewide Maryland Child Trafficking public awareness conference on April 6-7, 2022, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET , online. The purpose is to mobilize communities, individuals, and service providers in response to sex and labor trafficking of children and youth, and the audience will be health, legal and human services professionals, as well as interested members of the public. This year’s conference focus is on how we can work together to build impactful and sustainable partnerships that effectively attend to the needs of human trafficking victims.
Keynote speakers Derrica and Natalie Wilson, Founders of the Black and Missing Foundation featured in the HBO Documentary Black and Missing, on racial disparities in missing persons case handling. Closing plenary will feature James Dold, Esq., CEO of Human Rights for Kids, on gang-related youth crime as a form of child labor trafficking.
