Greetings!
Maryrejahlil and I are second year students at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. As students we also contribute to the student social work magazine, The Disruptor, through written articles and serving as reviewers. For our final issue this May, we would like to explore past and current students\' thoughts and feelings surrounding Macro Social Work.
Currently we have received thoughts and feedback concerning the overall presence of macro social work in our program. It is our understanding that between 98% and 99% of coursework in MSW programs is clinical. A mere 1% to 2% is dedicated to Macro education. We would like to extend the following questions to each of you and hear your thoughts. The questions are:
Did you have adequate opportunities for education and practice in both macro and clinical social work?
What was the best part of your experience? What would you like to see change?
