Grand Challenges for Social Work releases 5 year impact report

The Grand Challenges for Social Work released its 5 year Impact Report in January 2021, highlighting accomplishments throughout the initiative and across the country in its first five years. At the mid-way mark in the ten year initiative, the report acknowledges progress to-date, and goals for the remaining five years.

The Grand Challenges for Social Work is hosted by the UMSSW. Professor Rick Barth serves as Chair of the Executive Committee and Leadership Board and Kira Silk is the Director.

This report was released after a related roundtable given at the SSWR Annual Meeting. Also, participating in the Roundtable with Barth and Silk were other members of Executive Committee (Dean James Herbert Williams of ASU and Professor Michael Spencer of the University of Washington) and Carrie Pettus-Davis, a network lead for the grand challenge to Promote Smart Decarceration.
