Emeritus Professor Michael Reisch Presents a Paper at International Conference in Germany

On Wednesday, July 7, Distinguished Professor Emeritus Michael Reisch presented an invitational paper at an international conference in Hannover, Germany. The paper, "Public v. Private Provision in a Post-Pandemic Society," discussed how the relationships among private charity, political decentralization, and neoliberalism have shaped the U.S. conception of social welfare and social policy.

The conference theme: “The Common Good and Socially Added Value: Financing Concepts, Goals, and Socio-Political Strategies,” drew participants from several continents. It is part of a bi-annual series of symposia on the future of the welfare state.
