Dr. Henneberger receives grant from the American Educational Research Association

Dr. Angie Henneberger has received a grant from the American Educational Research Association (AERA) to study the long-term effects of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is a multi-layered approach designed improved social and academic outcomes for students and reduce exclusionary discipline practices.

Dr. Henneberger will examine whether PBIS has lasting effects over time. She will leverage longitudinal data collected in Maryland to identify the 20,000 students and 800 classroom teachers in 42 Maryland elementary schools who participated in a study from 2007 until 2012. Using data from this previous study, her team will explore secondary school and juvenile justice outcomes among these youth through 2018-2019.

Best wishes to Dr. Henneberger on this important study!
