Dr. Dababnah and Colleagues Present for INSAR Institute

Associate Professor Sarah Dababnah, along with Dr. Charina Reyes (School of Medicine) and Ms. Yetta Myrick (Parents\' Place of Maryland) will lead a webinar on July 15 for the 2021 International Association for Autism Research (INSAR) Institute on Autism and Intersectionality.

The webinar, “Autism & Race: Engaging Racially & Ethnically Diverse Communities in Autism Research,” aims for participants to:

  1. Understand the disparities facing racial and ethnic diverse communities face to receive autism

  2. diagnostic and treatment services

  3. Discuss the racist and classist history that contributes to barriers for Black and African American families in engaging in autism research and how to facilitate engagement

  4. Learn about the barriers Asian American families experience in engaging in autism research and how to overcome them
