Distinguished Professor Emeritus Michael Reisch published an op-ed essay on Monday, November 16, in the Baltimore Sun entitled "Do Americans Really Want to Live in a Democracy?" The essay points out that despite the record turnout in this year's election, the American political system and American society still lack several essential features of a functioning democracy.
