Dababnah, Wang, and Zhu Facilitate Panel on Developmental Disability Research Focusing on Asian Familly's
Associate Professor Sarah Dababnah, who also Co-Chairs a Special Interest Research Group for the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, moderated a panel of experts from India, Taiwan and Australia on community-engaged disability research in Asia. Currently, the experiences and voices of Asians with developmental disabilities are almost completely absent from the academic literature. PhD Student Yao Wang (who published a 2020 systematic review on this topic with Dr. Dababnah, Research Librarian Gail Betz, and former UMSSW Post-doctoral Fellow Irang Kim), and MSW Student Stella Zhu helped to organize and facilitate the event.
