On September 23, 2021 Adjunct Faculty member David Crumpton and University of Maryland MSW Julia Roche will conduct a virtual workshop at the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil. Attendees will be Brazilian Ministry of Health staff members and masters students at USP, The subject will be Crumpton and Roche\'s study of the Canadian national approach to training physicians. They will also discuss the template that they developed for the comparative study of national approaches to training medical professionals.
Crumpton and Roche have been contracted by the Brazilian Ministries of Health and Education to participate in a project intended to improve the training of medical professionals in Brazil's national health service. Their role is to perform comparative research on the medical professional training approaches in Canada, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom, with a focus on the identification of best practices.
