We are always looking for more voices to add to The Disruptor dialogue. We welcome many types of contributions from students and alumni: artwork, commentary, articles, previous classwork, poetry, short stories, and more.
We are currently looking for contributors for our upcoming issue: Anti-oppression work at SSW. We want to explore the history of this work, past student organizing, current programs and initiatives, and to ask the question, “Where do we go from here?”
We would also like to feature student work from SOWK 610: Structural Oppression and Its Implications for Social Work Practice. If you took SOWK 610 in the fall, please consider submitting your work from the class, especially the Visions of Liberation assignment.
The issue will come out February 8th, and we ask that submissions be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than January 25th. We are looking for a maximum of roughly 500 words. Class assignments may need to be condensed. Please email email@example.com with any questions.
Every submission to the journal goes through a 2-step review and editing process. Each submission must be approved by at least 2 readers to be accepted, following which it is sent to
an editor and returned to the author for approval. Student group submissions bypass review.
If you are interested in being regularly involved with The Disruptor, we would love to have you! Feel free to join us at our weekly meeting: Fridays @ 2 pm at the following link: https://umaryland.zoom.us/j/96749242429?pwd=eDNETmY1QzhmVXc1b2czWVNtZHdEdz09
