MD AHEC Scholars: Interprofessional Program for Students Interested in Health Care is Open

AHEC Scholars is an interprofessional program geared towards health profession students. The program exposes you to interdisciplinary didactic and community-based clinical training in rural and/or underserved areas.

▪ Receive a Maryland AHEC Scholar Certificate of Completion, signifying an advanced accomplishment that enhances knowledge and skills. ▪ Become a thought leader in your field and create an invaluable network of mentors and colleagues. ▪ Work together with other disciplines, learning their roles and responsibilities. ▪ Bolster your clinical knowledge about rural and underserved healthcare throughout Maryland.

▪ Currently enrolled in a health profession or public/community health degree program and be two years from degree completion ▪ Two-year commitment required, with one-year follow-up ▪ 40 hours of community-based clinical or experiential training in rural and/or underserved areas ▪ 40 hours of didactic education through online modules, utilizing Blackboard, and live webinars completed on student’s own time
