Hiring Part-Time Research Interviewers

The University of Maryland School of Social Work is hiring several part-time student interviewers for a National Institute of Mental Health funded clinical trial of a medication adherence device. The position requires individuals to have access to a car and be willing to travel to locations around Central and Eastern Maryland to conduct structured interviews with individuals that have serious mental illness and who are enrolled in the study. Hours will be flexible and we anticipate that individuals will be able to work up to 20 hours a week; pay will start at $17/hr. Interviewers will be expected to pass research ethics training and receive interviewer training. Primary job duties will include: picking up interview packets from campus, driving to study sites, conducting interviews with study participants and inputting their responses on a tablet device, recording any pertinent notes from the interview and sharing those notes with the interview team, returning interview materials to campus, logging mileage through the university's eTravel system, and recording hours on a timesheet in a timely manner. Most interviews will be conducted independently, so interviewers will need to have experience and comfort working with individuals with serious mental illness and conducting face-to-face interviews for a research study. Please note that we will only begin to resume our research activities once the university and partnering agencies have deemed it safe to do so, and we will take all necessary precautions (e.g., physical distancing measures, supplying PPE, etc.) to protect our research team and our study participants. The expected study period will take place from July 2020 through the summer of 2021. If you are interested in this position, please send your resume or CV and any questions to Dr. Nicole Mattocks: nmattocks@ssw.umaryland.edu.
