Want to learn how to effectively communicate your ideas in writing to both academic and general public audiences?
Consider taking UMB’s online certificate program in Science Communication. We’ve designed this completely online program for busy students who want to take one course at a time while working on another degree and for professionals who are working full-time.
In just 9 months, you will do the following:
Strengthen your technical writing skills
Learn the principles of scientific writing
Gain exposure to a wide variety of scientific writing genres
Learn how to write a journal article editors want to publish
Practice key principles for writing, submitting, and revising grants and proposals
Use effective strategies for writing for the public
Receive frequent and detailed individualized feedback to improve your writing
We intentionally keep our classes small—no more than 15 students—to give you more personal attention. At the end of the program, you will be able to strategically plan, craft, and execute your writing about science in an engaging, scientifically-informed manner.
Applications for admission are due by July 15. The program begins the end of August.
UMB employees can use their tuition benefits to cover the costs of this program.
