What to Do If You Think You Have Been Exposed

In a continued effort to ensure the safety and health of all SSW community members, faculty, staff and students, please review the following guidelines, provided by the University, should you feel you’ve been exposed to the COVID-19 virus:

“Anyone who thinks they may have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19 should seek guidance from a healthcare provider who can walk them through the appropriate questions and answers to determine the risk of exposure based on the individualized facts of their circumstances. You can contact UMaryland Immediate Care at (667) 214-1899.

Whether a person thinks they have been exposed or not, everyone is encouraged to continue to practice social distancing, regular handwashing, and other preventative hygiene practices.” (https://www.umaryland.edu/coronavirus/faq/)

Supplemental steps are being taken by our Environmental Services (Housekeeping) department to clean and sanitize common surfaces, such as door handles, computer keyboards in classrooms, handrails, and water fountains. They are wiping surfaces with disinfectant bleach wipes and Lysol disinfectant spray at a higher frequency to ensure surface borne germs are routinely sanitized.

The necessary steps are being taken to ensure that any members of the SSW community that have been exposed to COVID-19 are self-quarantined and undergoing the tests, as indicated by their physicians, to determine their COVID-19 status. So far, no individual associated with the UMSSW has shown any symptoms related to COVID-19.
