Library workshops on scholarly publishing & research impact

The HS/HSL is offering a series of three workshops during the first week of February on scholarly publishing and research impact: February 4, 1:00-2:00PM Choosing the Right Journal for your Research This workshop will introduce you to tools you can use to identify the journal that best matches your work. We will discuss strategies for choosing a journal and the important features you should consider to make a strategic choice. Feel free to come with a current manuscript or just to learn about approaches for the future. February 5, 1:00-2:00PM Open Access Publishing: The Good and the Predatory This workshop will teach you about open access publishing models, how to identify reputable open access journals, and what red flags to look for in predatory publications. You will learn why open access helps disseminate research more widely and how to leverage this new publishing venue to increase your research impact. February 6, 1:00-2:00PM Strategic Publishing: Making the Most of your Research This workshop will help you increase the impact of your research output by discussing how to disseminate it more broadly. We will cover preprint and other repositories, author IDs such as ORCID, and ways of measuring research impact. Register at:
