U.S. Senate EAP - New Placement Opportunity for a Clinical Behavioral Health – Employee Assistance S

capitol

The SSW's Dr. Jodi Frey has been working for a few years to develop this new and exciting field opportunity for an advanced clinical student specializing in Behavioral Health and sub-specializing in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). This new placement is at the U.S. Senate in Washington, DC.

It is ideal for a student who is passionate about learning EAP and interested in all aspects of social work in the workplace and EAP including but not limited to direct practice with employees and family members, coupled with mezzo and macro experiences related to program management, budget and policy management and resource development. Students will also have access to Senate hearings and briefings, so an opportunity to learn more about this part of the work environment is an added bonus.

In addition to direct practice with individuals, interns will learn to facilitate group psycho-educational seminars, co-lead trainings and engage in clinical site visit. There may also be opportunities to provide support for workplace critical or traumatic incident.

If interested in this or other EAP (clinical placements and macro placement still available), please contact Dr. Jodi Frey immediately at jfrey@ssw.umaryland.edu to discuss your interest and to have an advising session.
