SSW's Greif Inducted Into American Academy of Social Work & Social Welfare

The American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare welcomes 19 new Fellows for the Class of 2020, including the School of Social Work Professor Geoff Greif, PhD. The Academy is honoring the depth of their leadership in research and practice, advancement of equity and commitment to social good.

The induction ceremony occurs January 17, 2020 at 7:00 p.m., during the Society for Social Work and Research’s annual conference in Washington, D.C.

The featured induction speaker is Dr. Ron Avi Astor, who holds the Marjory Crump Chair Professorship in Social Welfare at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, with a joint appointment in the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. He will present “Safe and Welcoming Schools: Preventing Bullying and Promoting Well-Being Worldwide Through a Social Work School Reform Approach.” A reception follows.

Greif joins other UMSSW faculty members who are AASWSW Fellows, including Dean Richard Barth, Dean Emeritus Jesse Harris, and former faculty members Michael Reisch and Diane DePanfilis.
