Shdaimah also has served on several editorship and editorial review board positions, is a journal and grant reviewer, and volunteers at many community organizations in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and nationally.

Shdaimah commented, “I am honored to carry the legacy of Daniel Thursz’s commitment to social justice of dialogue and community engagement through my research and in the Thursz Social Justice lecture series. At the UM SSW we are experts in techniques, therapies, interventions, and analysis. Combining our knowledge with the strength, resilience, and expertise that people have on their own lives and their communities can be a powerful force for change.”

Shdaimah succeeds the retiring Michael Reisch, PhD. Reisch served in the role since 2008.
