Every fall, Wolfe Street Academy (WSA) students and their siblings complete a Holiday wish list. With the help of Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance, each WSA family is matched with a community donor who buys the items on the children’s wish lists. On Sunday, Dec. 15, WSA families will come to school to pick up the holiday gifts that have been donated to their children. Last year, this program served 186 WSA families. Volunteer Needs: While the gifts are distributed on Sunday, Dec. 15, the gift organization process takes up the entire weekend! Volunteer roles vary based upon the day and volunteers are needed all 3 days! Friday, Dec. 13 from 3 – 6 pm: Donors will drop off gifts at WSA. Volunteers help greet, carry the gifts, and sort them by receiving family. Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 am – 5 pm: Volunteers needed to sort and compare gifts with initial wish lists to ensure that families receive what they requested as donors drop them off. Sunday, Dec. 4 from 10 am – 4 pm: Volunteers needed to sort and distribute gifts, and clean up.
