School of Social Work Faculty and Students Volunteer at Paul’s Place November 7

The School of Social Work goes to the community. Members of the Student Government Association, field education faculty and members of the Homelessness Social Work Council are teaming to give a half day of service at Paul’s Place in west Baltimore. The event takes place November 7.

As a field placement agency, Paul’s Place is a catalyst and leader for change, improving the quality of life for homeless individuals in the Washington Village, Pigtown neighborhood and surrounding southwest Baltimore neighborhoods. On-site programs aim to strengthen individuals and families, fostering hop, personal dignity and growth especially for homeless persons. Students and faculty will assist with implementation of scheduled programs and services during their visit. Staff at Paul’s Place will engages with students to expand their understanding of homelessness and the impact of local programs on this grand challenge of the profession.
