Art, Youth and Justice: Celebrating Youth Justice Month at the Baltimore Museum of Art

On this day only, there will be free admission to the exhibit, Generations: A History of Black Abstract Art. The art collection of Pamela Joyner is known as the "activist collector" for her curation and purchase of primarily artists of African descent. In addition, there will be the free showing of the movie, "Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools," and the video series Rethink Baltimore that focuses on the complex lives of Baltimore City youth and those who want a better future for them. This event will be followed by a panel discussion about topics such as adultification, bias and restorative practices. The panel will feature a number of excellent speakers including Shantay McKinily, Director of the Positive Schools Center (PSC) at the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
