October 30, 12:15 PM, room 3E14 - BHWISE Lifespan and BHWISE IOWA November 8, 12:15 PM, room 3E04 - BHWISE Lifespan and BHWISE IOWA November 11, 5:00 PM, room 4E08 - BHWISE Lifespan and BHWISE IOWA November 12, 12:15PM, room 2W11- BHWISE SUDIF November 12, 5:15PM, room 2W11-BHWISE SUDIF BHWISE Lifespan: The BHWISE Lifespan Felowship will recruit and train 30 advanced-year MSW students to provide behavioral health services to clients of all ages who live in underserved communities. The fellowship coincides with the advanced year field placement. BHWISE Lifespan Fellows will be supported with a stipend of $10,000 per student. Students starting their advanced year field placement in the fall of 2020 who have a concentration in Clinical or Clinical/Macro, with a specialization in behavioral health, children & families, health, or aging are eligible for this program. BHWISE IOWA: The School of Social Work has been awarded a 1.3 million dollar grant from the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) to expand the Behavioral Health Workforce Integration Service and Education (BHWISE) Program. The new, additional BHWISE program named BHWISE-IOWA (Interprofessional Opioid Workforce Advancement) will train 11 social work students alongside 4 psychiatric nurse practitioner students and an Addiction Medicine Fellow, each of the next 3 years, preparing them for interprofessional practice in treatment programs that serve individuals, families and groups affected by opioid use disorders and co-morbid health conditions.

The fellowship coincides with the advanced year field placement. Fellows will be supported with a stipend of $10,000 per student. Students starting their advanced year field placement in the Fall of 2020 who have a concentration in Clinical or Clinical/Macro, with a specialization in behavioral health, are eligible for this program. BHWISE SUDIF: The Substance Use Disorder Interventions Fellowship (SUDIF) is a 2-year fellowship program that offers a generous stipend and specialized advanced year field experience for students who desire to become skilled in working with vulnerable, underserved populations, particularly individuals impacted by substance use disorders. SUDIF fellows are expected to work in a substance use disorder setting providing direct clinical services for two years following graduation. Incoming MSW students and part-time students who will enter their Foundation field placement in fall 2020 are eligible to apply. Advanced standing students are NOT ELIGIBLE for SUDIF.
