
Foundation year student Onyinye Alheri spoke at the FreeHer Conference in Montgomery, AL this
past weekend.
The conference, convened by the National Council for Incarcerated & Formerly Incarcerated Women & Girls, brings together individuals and organizations working to decrease the jailing and
imprisonment of women, girls & femmes. Alheri is speaking as a member of the group Critical Resistance, a grassroots organization working
nationwide to dismantle the prison industrial complex. She will be part of the opening plenary and
provide a workshop on alternatives to calling the police.
