Positive Schools Center’s Annual Summer Principals’ Institute Takes Place July 15-18

The Positive Schools Center’s annual summer Principals’ Institute is taking place July 15th-18th, at the University of Maryland School of Social Work.

More than 120 principals, teachers, Baltimore City Public Schools staff, and education funders will be participating in four days of exciting and interactive workshops. These sessions provide school leaders with tools and inspiration focused on the PSC’s core strategies of racial justice and equity, restorative approaches, trauma-responsive educational practices, social and emotional learning, and engaging student, family and community voice. Participants represent Twenty-six Baltimore City Public Schools have all committed to spend the next school year participating in intensive staff training and coaching to transform their schools’ climate, create a positive culture, and pursue alternatives to punitive discipline.

The PSC appreciates the partnership of Baltimore City Public Schools, the Peoples Institute for Survival and Beyond, the Open Society Institute-Baltimore, the Wolman Family Foundation, and the Blaustein Family Foundation, and many other funders, for supporting this important work.
