Dr. Caroline Long Burry Presents at Global Health Summit and Named a GLOBALtimore Fellow

Dr. Caroline Long Burry, Associate Professor, was a speaker on May 29 at University of Maryland Global Health Summit on the topic: “Overview of COIL: Cooperative Online International Learning.” She has also been selected as a UMB GLOBALtimore Fellow for 2019-2020. She will be developing and co-teaching a new class, “Interdisciplinary HIV Services: Learning from Differentiated Care Models in Botswana and Baltimore.” This class will be offered in the upcoming academic year and will include a 2-week trip to Botswana in January 2020.

The GLOBALtimore Teaching Fellows Program consists of workshops, support stipends, and membership in a learning community of faculty from across UMB’s professional and graduate schools to learn about global education and how to integrate global concepts into new or existing courses. Faculty can apply to join the fellowship program by completing an application in which they propose to globalize an existing course or create a new one to be taught Spring or Fall 2020.
