Three Students Selected as 2019 UM Scholars

Three students from the University of Maryland School of Social Work have been named 2019 UM Scholars. The three will work this summer on projects funded by the State's MPower Initiative.

The students are:

Alayna Calabro, School of Social Work

Project: How we can progress in human trafficking victims’ services: Lessons for the IPV/Domestic Violence Movement

Mentor: Susan Esserman, JD, Executive Director and Founder, SAFE Center for Human Trafficking Survivors

Casseam Huber, School of Social Work

Project: How we can progress in human trafficking victims’ services: Lessons for the IPV/Domestic Violence Movement

Christina Koch, School of Social Work

Project: Statewide Maryland Automated Record Tracking (SMART) System, at the Institute for Government Service and Research (IGSR)

Mentor: Stephan Sherman, MA, MSW, Associate Director, IGSR
