The School of Social Work was the home for the premiere Summit for Homelessness Service Providers held on March 26. Dr. Donald W. Burnes, who was the keynote speaker, is shown here in the center with Associate Dean for Field Instruction Samuel Little (left) and Dean Richard Barth (right). Burnes is chair of the Poverty and Homelessness Institute at the Denver School of Social Work and author of Ending Homelessness: Why We Haven’t, How We Can.

About 100 service providers from the region attended the event and engaged with panel members on topics ranging from service delivery models for the diverse face of homelessness to lessons learned from practice and research. Dr. Burnes autographed his book during the networking luncheon and reception. The event was sponsored by the School of Social Work Homelessness Council. Samuel Little is the chairperson.
