Funding Received for Kinship Caregivers Experience of Dependency Court Study

The Maryland Administrative Office of the Courts has funded over $23,000 to the SSW's Corey Shdaimah for the project "Kinship Caregivers Experience of Dependency Court.”

The purpose of the project is to study how kinship and relative caregivers experience the foster care court process, including what facilitates and impedes their interaction with the court. The project replicates a study conducted by Dr. Shdaimah in 2017 with foster parents, and is being conducted at the request of the Maryland Administrative Office of the Court’s Foster Care Court Improvement Program (FCCIP). The FCCIP hopes to use findings to improve relative and kinship caregivers’ interactions with the courts
