Social Work in the Workplace and Employee Assistance - Placements Available

Did you know that the UMSS offers the only dedicated track in its MSW program for social workers wanting to enter the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) field? As part of the Behavioral Health Specialization, the EAP sub-specialization (does not take additional time to complete to graduate) prepares students for occupational social work roles in EAP, private practice, consulting, and training, in addition to macro positions including program management, employment leadership roles in employee relations, human resources, organizational development and so much more. We have a few more social work spots open for EAP internships in both the clinical and macro concentration. If you are interested in learning more, see the link below for a brief video about the program and contact Dr. Frey, Chair of the EAP Subspecialization at jfrey@ssw.umaryland.edu. The workplace is a great place for social workers to be in order to improve the quality of life for working families - check out EAP and see if it might be a good fit for your social work career aspirations!
