For the second year in a row, Associate Professor, Dr. Joan Davitt was a judge for the University of Pennsylvania Rothberg Catalyzer Makerthon. The Makerthon is similar to a hackathon, except that interdisciplinary student teams collaborate to build innovative hardware solutions to health problems.
The teams must develop a prototype, research its' marketability, and present the case for their prototype to a panel of judges. The grand prize is $10,000 to help the winning team bring their prototype to market.
