Assistant Professor Dr. Sarah Dababnah, MSW Graduate Benjamin Bear, MSW/MPH Student Dana Hussein, and a colleague from Catholic University published a new paper in the journal Autism. The article describes a trauma-informed parent intervention developed specifically for families raising children with autism in conflict-affected communities. Dr. Dababnah and her team worked with local and international partners to pilot the program with a group of Syrian refugee parents and teachers of children with autism. The article, "Feasibility of a trauma-informed parent–teacher cooperative training program for Syrian refugee children with autism", can be found here: doi.org/10.1177/1362361318805368.
