29th Annual Project Feast Volunteering and Donations


Project Feast is a student organization at the University of Maryland School of Medicine that puts together a free Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day, November 22nd from 10am-3pm at Booker T. Washington Elementary School for the homeless and underserved population of Baltimore, Maryland. For the 29th annual Project Feast event, we are sponsored by the Medical Alumni Association and the Medical Student Council. In addition to providing a meal, we also connect our guests with a variety of community resources and have a large collection of donated clothing, blankets, toiletries, and pantry staples available to meet their more immediate needs. For the past 28 years, this event has been held on Thanksgiving Day at Booker T. Washington Elementary School in West Baltimore, and has fed hundreds of people. Last year, we served approximately 500 guests with the help of 175 volunteers! Here’s how we could use your help: Volunteer: Help spread the word about this event, sign up to bake turkeys before Thanksgiving, or sign up to volunteer serving the day of the event! Please sign up to volunteer using this link: Donate: Gently used clothing, non-perishable food items, & toiletries to the collection boxes around campus, such as those near the entrances of Bressler Research Building (near Taylor Lecture Hall), HS/HSL Library, SMC Campus Center, UMB School of Dentistry, and in the SOM Pods kitchen.
