Associate Professor Nalini Negi along with Art Zavala, Associate Professor of Psychology at the California State University in Long Beach, chaired the 18th National Hispanic Science Network conference funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). The theme of this year's conference was “Bridging the Gap Between Basic and Clinical Addiction Science and the Implications for Drug Policy.” Plenary speakers included Drs. George Koob, Director of NIAAA, Eliseo Perez-Stable, Director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) and Wilson Compton, Deputy Director of NIDA.
