Assistant Professor Sarah Dababnah and her colleagues at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Rady Children's Hospital (San Diego), the University of Michigan, and the University of Texas at Austin have a new paper published in Social Work in Mental Health.

The paper, "Autism spectrum disorder and the science of social work: A grand challenge for social work research," argues that social workers are well-positioned to engage in research and practice aimed at promoting full and meaningful inclusion in society, as well as social and economic justice, for individuals on the autism spectrum. The paper outlines a framework for social workers to take more leadership roles in research, practice, education, and advocacy aimed at supporting individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.
