Do You Want to Have a Role in Dismantling the Phenomenon of Gun Violence?

GUN

We are looking for UMB students enrolled full time during the 2018-2019 academic year to participate in a year-long project aimed at exploring a phenomenon that is both pervasive and controversial – Gun Violence. This is an opportunity to serve as part of an interprofessional team to disassemble the topic of Gun Violence to its many parts and explore how we as an institution can better lead in and support a society experiencing a gun-related epidemic. Specifically, the President’s Fellows will: (1) examine UMB’s role as an anchor institution in addressing gun violence through education, research, clinical care, and service; while (2) exploring the root causes of gun violence; and (3) using an interdisciplinary lens to examine the impact of trauma on communities. Applications are due by 11:59 pm on Monday, July 30.
