rajigiri

What: Four Rajagiri College MSW students and a faculty member, Dr. M.D. Saju, from Kochi, India will be visiting the SSW and will sit in on classes, visit field agencies, and tour local cultural and social services sites. When: June 30-July 16, 2018 Why: The Social Work Department at Rajagiri College and the SSW have partnered for over a decade in a number of ways. In particular, groups of SSW students have lived at Rajagiri and completed field placements and coursework; other SSW students have visited Rajagiri and participated in conferences. Now we have an opportunity to reciprocate Rajagiri’s generous hospitality by hosting this visit. What We Need: • We are looking for volunteers to host our 5 Rajagiri visitors for lunch or supper on one of the days of their visit. • We are accepting tax-deductible donations to support the group’s visit. • We are also looking for site visit opportunities; perhaps you work/volunteer/have a contact at an agency with an organization which would be a good site for the Rajagiri group to visit. • And we welcome offers for other fun/cultural opportunities, perhaps you can provide tickets to an event or activity, such as a museum, Orioles game, etc. How Can I Participate? • To volunteer to provide meals/tickets/site visits, please email Dr. Caroline Burry cburry@ssw.umaryland.edu • To donate, please mail your check to Dr. Caroline Long Burry at Box 154, SSW, University of Maryland, 525 W. Redwood Street, Baltimore, MD 21201. Tax-deductible donations can be made by check only, made out to UMBF/SSW/International Study Program-India. Questions?
